Instant Replay by Jerry Kramer

THE INSTANT REPLAY STORY

In 1967, Jerry Kramer and his good friend Dick Schaap collaborated to write a book titled Instant Replay. The result was a groundbreaking look inside the world of professional football. It was one of the first books ever to take readers into the locker room and reveal the inner workings of a professional sports franchise.

The book spent 37 weeks on the NY Times Best Seller list when it was published in 1968. It has become one of the most popular and best selling sports books of all time.

Vincent T. Lombardi

Instant Replay is Jerry Kramer’s personal diary of the Green Bay Packers unprecedented 1967 championship season. Kramer takes the readers behind the scenes of one of the most storied franchises in the history of sports.  From training camp, through the historic Ice Bowl and his famous block, then into the locker room of Super Bowl II, Kramer provides a vivid account of what professional football was really like from his unique perspective.  He also provides a rare and inside glimpse at one of the most prolific coaches of all time, Vincent T. Lombardi.
Vincent T. LombardiWhile writing the book, Jerry kept a dairy documenting his thoughts, impressions and feelings by recording them on a tape recorder. Click here to listen to the actual recordings! Dick Schaap then had the tapes transcribed, reviewed the transcriptions and then collaborated with Kramer to organize and shape them into what many consider to be one the of the best sports books of all time, Instant Replay

Instant Replay
has been out of print for over a decade. After countless requests from fans and, most importantly as a remembrance of Dick Schaap, Jerry Kramer has decided to have the book republished.  In September of 2006, a new hardcover edition of Instant Replay will be released. It features a new forward by Jonathan Yardley, additional comments about the book from the likes of Billy Crystal, Mitch Albom, David Maraniss and others, several new and updated photos, and a new section titled Remembering Dick Schaap.  Whether you’re a long time fan of Instant Replay, or a first-time reader, this one of a kind book is a must have for any sports enthusiast’s collection.
